Hello!

My name is Alexandra and I am from Sydney Australia. In short: I’m an artist with immense admiration for all visual and performative technique. I have recently completed my Bachelors of Design in Animation with Honours UTS, in which I have created an original short animated film. I hope you follow along my journey with all the projects I will to accomplish this year.

Like most people, I grew up with the beautiful designs and music from Disney, the witty and colourful world of Dreamworks Studios, and the whimsical, yet authentic, stories of Studio Ghibli. My palette has expanded since my childhood and these days there are just too many phenomenal filmmakers, writers, artists, and studios to condense into this bio. This of course means that I consciously (and sometimes subconsciously) reference films, art, and stories that have empowered or shaped me into my own work.

Growing up in coastal Australia, I take a lot of inspiration from the natural world, especially the beautiful beaches. The Australian landscape is incredibly unique and influences the patterns and textures I create. As much as I love the country I was born in, I also let my Eastern European heritage shine through, often in my technique or stories. I have a close bond with my grandmother who was born in Ukraine in the 1940s and was never shy in telling me about her life in Soviet Russia — even showing me Soviet cartoons growing up.
